The African Development Bank has opened a second Information and Communications Technology Centre of Excellence at the United States International University-Africa in Nairobi as part of its Coding for Employment program.

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has opened a second Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Kenya to enhance digital financial inclusion on the continent. The CoE will leverage emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and blockchain, to develop solutions that help underserved communities access financial services. The new centre will focus on scaling up digital solutions for agriculture, health, education and transportation, while also addressing issues such as identity management and interoperability. The first CoE was opened in Senegal in 2021.
