Andela acquires Casana, a Munich-based network of IT talent
Andela, a global network for remote technical talent and a pioneer in software developer growth in Africa, has made its second acquisition of the year by acquiring Casana, a Munich-based network of IT talent. With this acquisition, Andela aims to expand its presence in Europe and enhance its European footprint. Enrico Karnstädt, the founder of Casana, will lead Andela's German business and oversee its expansion into Western Europe.
Andela's co-founder and CEO, Jeremy Johnson, expressed excitement about serving clients in Europe through the company's global network of digital experts. The acquisition of Casana aligns with Andela's approach to assessing qualifications and expanding its talent network. Earlier this year, Andela acquired Qualified, a technical skills assessment platform, to strengthen its talent sourcing and assessment capabilities. Andela boasts a 96% placement success rate and has expanded its talent base to over 80 countries worldwide.
While initially focused on connecting African tech talent with American companies, Andela has now broadened its scope to include professionals from various regions. In 2021, the company announced plans to cover professionals from Latin and South America, as well as Eastern Europe. Karnstädt, the founder of Casana, emphasized that the collaboration with Andela will provide customers with access to a larger pool of qualified technologists in Europe and other global regions.
