Amid the ongoing civil war in Sudan, local tech startups like Cashi, DataQ, Tirhal, and KhartouMap are adapting their services to assist people affected by the conflict. Cashi, a fintech startup, has launched a peer-to-peer transaction system that bypasses Sudan's dysfunctional e-banking system, allowing users to transfer money using voucher numbers that can be exchanged for cash at kiosks. DataQ created a platform called Nidaa, where people in distress can post their requirements, and volunteers can provide assistance. Tirhal, a mobility startup, is offering free rides for people moving out of war zones. These startups are leveraging technology to fill gaps in essential services and support the Sudanese people during this challenging time.
