Autochek has acquired a majority stake in Egypt’s AutoTager to strengthen pan-African footprint, ten months after it expanded into North Africa. This is its second acquisition in the region.

Autochek, the African mobility company, has acquired a majority stake in AutoTager, an Egyptian automotive technology company that simplifies the car-buying and selling process. AutoTager provides consumers with easier access to vetted vehicles and financing, while connecting dealers with serious buyers and technology solutions to improve their operations. Autochek's acquisition of AutoTager deepens its presence in North Africa, after it acquired Morocco-based KIFAL Auto in 2021. Autochek now has active operations in nine countries across East, West, and North Africa, with a partner-led footprint of over 2,000 dealers and workshop locations. The acquisition of AutoTager is Autochek's seventh since its launch in 2020.
