Nigeria’s digital economy’s biggest threats are cyberattacks according to Isa Pantami, the Nigerian minister of communications and digital economy.
He noted this at a two-day cybersecurity stakeholders capacity-building workshop in Abuja on Tuesday.
The workshop was hosted by the ministry of communications and digital economy, in collaboration with the World Bank.
Nigeria's Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, has warned that cyberattacks pose a significant threat to the country's growing digital economy. Speaking at a cybersecurity capacity-building workshop in Abuja, Pantami stressed the need for collaboration between organisations to combat cyber threats, citing a 300% increase in cyberattacks in Africa over the past year. Pantami called for the strengthening of Nigeria's cybersecurity landscape, saying the country's national cybersecurity policy and strategy would be developed and reviewed in 2022 to offer a comprehensive framework for addressing cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
