Cameroonian startup Koree, which offers a consumer app serving as a digital wallet for loyalty cards, is preparing for expansion across Francophone Africa with support from Catalytic Africa. Koree enables users to collect spare change from cash payments and earn cashback from various stores and brands. The startup recently secured a €20,000 ($22,000) investment from Cameroon Angels Network (CAN), triggering a 3x matching investment of €60,000 ($66,000) from Catalytic Africa. Koree aims to address the issue of coin and low-value bill scarcity, which affects transactions in French-speaking Sub-Saharan African countries. It plans to expand within Cameroon and into markets like Ivory Coast, Senegal, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
