Cameroonian ed-tech startup Prepdia expands to Gabon
Prepdia is a tutoring platform that was founded in 2019 by Malieh Maxime to provide learners with access to quality educational assistance. The platform connects learners and parents with professional tutors in their local area, and so far it has connected over 1,200 learners with more than 400 tutors in Cameroon. Prepdia has sold over 75,000 hours of lessons and is now expanding into Francophone Africa, starting with Gabon. The startup is considering raising funds to help achieve its expansion goals in the region. Maxime started the company based on his personal experiences of wanting to be an engineer but being unable to afford it. He passed an engineering entrance exam by tutoring others and realised that there was no platform connecting learners and tutors. Prepdia aims to provide a hassle-free method for learners and parents to connect, learn, and pay professional tutors.
