Congolese fintech companies are teaming up with the government to establish the Congolese Fintech Network (CFN), aiming to bolster financial inclusion and facilitate collaboration within the industry. Led by board member Joel Tshilumba, CFN seeks to foster effective communication channels with government representatives to promote mutual benefits and innovation.

With prominent players like MaishaPay and Velex Advisory already on board, CFN aspires to create a cooperative and efficient fintech ecosystem in the DRC, complemented by major banks and international organizations. Despite recent funding milestones like Tuma's $500,000 round, the DRC's financial inclusion rate of 38.5% in 2022 highlights the need for concerted efforts to achieve the government's target of 55% by 2028.

Through advocacy for favorable regulatory environments and innovative solutions, CFN aims to enhance the fintech landscape in the DRC. Following a continent-wide trend, this collaboration underscores the growing importance of startups in shaping industry standards and fostering financial inclusion. The forthcoming Congo Fintech Week in May will showcase CFN's progress and strategies for advancing financial inclusion across the DRC. 🌍💼💰
