Dream VC, an African venture capital talent network, has selected 54 fellows from 22 countries to join its 2023 cohort of the VC accelerator program. The program aims to support present and aspiring investors in entering the African startup ecosystem. Since its establishment in 2021, Dream VC has trained over 80 African and Africa-focused investment professionals who now hold leadership and investment roles in prominent African venture and tech companies. The program offers a comprehensive curriculum, hands-on training, and networking opportunities with top investors. The recent cohort of the Investor Accelerator program consists of seasoned professionals, active investors, and senior operators aiming to contribute to the African ecosystem. The selective application process has resulted in a program acceptance rate of 12%. This year's cohort has expanded to include 54 fellows from 22 countries, with a notable increase in participants from East Africa, particularly Kenya. Additionally, 43% of the cohort identifies as female, and fellows from emerging ecosystems such as Botswana, Algeria, Somaliland, and Burundi are also represented.
