Egyptian healthtech startup Chefaa has successfully raised $5.25 million in a funding round co-led by South Africa’s Newtown Partners and Japan’s Global Brain. Founded in 2017, Chefaa focuses on patient-centric pharmacy benefits, enabling users to conveniently order, schedule, and refill both insured and non-insured prescriptions. The platform, already connecting over one million monthly active users with 1,100 pharmacies across Egypt and Saudi Arabia, will utilize the funding to expedite its growth, particularly in Saudi Arabia, where it currently operates in eight cities. The investment underscores Chefaa's commitment to improving healthcare accessibility through innovative digital solutions.
