Employees allege sexual harassment and intimidation at CCI, Africa’s largest call center company
CCI Kenya, a branch of Africa's largest business process outsourcing company, CCI Global, is facing serious allegations of sexual harassment and abuse in the workplace. Over 20 current and former employees have spoken out about their experiences, detailing instances of unwanted sexual advances, intimidation, exceedingly long work hours, and poor working conditions. Some female employees reported facing sexual advances from members in senior management, while others were allegedly denied sick leave even when seriously unwell. Employees also claimed to work long shifts without overtime pay during peak seasons for the company's clients. Kenyan labor laws are meant to protect employees from toxic work environments, but enforcement remains a challenge. Despite these allegations, the company has not responded to media inquiries.
