Medstore, an Ethiopian startup, has launched a digital marketplace for buying and selling medical equipment online, as well as publishing and subscribing to medical equipment tenders. The company acts as a matchmaker for manufacturers and distributors of medical equipment. It is currently bootstrapped and earns revenue through seller subscriptions and commissions from sales made on its platform. The company is currently focused on onboarding and creating a network effect, as adoption has been a challenge due to the large budget required for marketing. Medstore was founded in 2020 and launched its platform in March 2023.
