Flutterwave, a Nigerian fintech unicorn, has acquired two licenses from the National Bank of Rwanda, allowing the company to operate as an electronic money issuer and offer remittance services in the country. Flutterwave, which had previously expanded into Rwanda with a payment service provider, will deploy a range of products in the country, including its cross-border money transfer solution, Send by Flutterwave, as well as Flutterwave for Business and its suite of products to help individuals and businesses make the most of the booming eCommerce market. Flutterwave has been on a license acquisition spree, having recently obtained payment services provider and payment facilitator licenses from the National Bank of Egypt.
