Ghanaian agri-tech startup Farmerline has expanded into Francophone Africa with an official launch of operations in Ivory Coast, deepening partnerships across West Africa and accelerating its commitment to support small scale farmers everywhere.
Ghanaian agri-tech firm Farmerline has launched operations in Ivory Coast, its first expansion into Francophone Africa. The move will see Ivorian farmers gain access to high-quality fertilisers and seeds, as well as education on climate-smart farming practices and connections to international markets. Farmerline has worked with over 3,000 strategic partners in 48 countries since 2013 and has used its technology platform Mergdata to improve the lives of 1.7 million small-scale farmers. Joel Amani Kouame, Farmerline's new regional manager of Francophone Africa, said the firm's approach to agriculture could drive economic growth in the region.
