Google is set to ban unlicensed loan apps in Kenya as new regulations take effect. This is in line with the Central Bank of Kenya's new rules aimed at regulating the digital credit sector. The rules require digital lenders to have a credit reference bureau license, customer complaint mechanism, and adequate data protection measures in place. Google will enforce the regulations by removing any apps that do not comply from the Play Store.
