Francophone Africa's super app, Gozem, has acquired Beninese fintech startup, Moneex, in a strategic move that will enable Gozem to introduce a mobile money service called Gozem Money in Togo and Benin. Moneex's co-founders will retain an equity stake, and this acquisition is part of Gozem's commitment to delivering essential digital services across Africa. Moneex, initially focused on cryptocurrency-based remittances, recognized the need for better access to global banking services in Africa, leading to its expansion into providing multi-currency accounts in Francophone West African countries. This acquisition is set to accelerate their mission of making financial services more accessible. Gozem, initially a ride-hailing app, has diversified into various services and is active in 13 cities across multiple African countries, with a rapidly growing user community.
