Rwandan healthtech startup DoctorAI is using artificial intelligence (AI) to help healthcare providers in Africa address medical errors and inaccessibility to medical specialists. Founded in 2019, DoctorAI's mobile-based AI models aim to reduce diagnostic errors and promote standard management. Its AI-powered breast X-ray has an accuracy rate of 98%, while its chest X-ray analyser can detect lung cancer with an accuracy of 95.4%. The company has enrolled over 100 doctors in its beta phase and is funded by friends and family, grant funding, and incubation. It plans to expand its services to include online consultations and telemedicine, and aims to go global.
