Starlink users and resellers in Zimbabwe have been warned that unless they secure requisite licenses, they are breaking the law by using and providing the service. Zimbabwe’s communications regulator, the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ), has issued a warning against the unlicensed use of Starlink.

The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) has warned against the unlicensed use of Starlink internet services in the country. Users and resellers have been cautioned that using or providing the service without the necessary licenses is illegal. To operate in Zimbabwe, Starlink must apply for a direct license with POTRAZ or partner with a registered public network in the country to distribute the service. The warning comes amid concerns about unauthorized entities distributing satellite-based internet services in the country. Zimbabwe has joined South Africa in enforcing stricter regulations on Starlink's usage until licensing requirements are met.
