When Mohamed Badr conceived of the idea for a mobile app that allows businesses and individuals to connect with transportation for items such as furniture, he wanted to launch it in his home country of Egypt.
EZZAL is a Moroccan start-up that connects vehicle owners with people or businesses needing to transport items. The service is particularly useful for small companies or start-ups that need to transport goods but can't afford to buy or rent vehicles. The founders of EZZAL, Ayman Badr and Munir Sofiani, launched the service in Morocco in February 2021 after deciding to avoid Egypt due to difficult economic conditions. The start-up has already seen strong uptake from companies in the sugar and building materials sectors and has secured several grants and equity funding from investors. EZZAL plans to expand into other markets in North Africa and the Middle East.
