Smile Identity has acquired Ghana-based ID verification company, Inclusive Innovations—the parent of Appruve. With this acquisition, Smile Identity says it will deepen its presence in Ghana and expand into francophone Africa, focusing on Cote D'Ivoire and Senegal.
Smile Identity, an African digital identity verification firm, has acquired Appruve's parent company, Inclusive Innovations, in a cash and stock deal. The acquisition will allow Smile Identity to deepen its presence in Ghana and expand into francophone Africa, focusing on Cote D'Ivoire and Senegal. The company aims to enable its customers to access a wider range of services, including onboarding into payment systems such as mobile money and bank accounts, international payments and remittance, stock trading and brokerage, and business lending. The acquisition will also expand Smile Identity's suite of APIs, covering over one billion Africans and 100 million African businesses.
