Afrobeats superstars are topping the streaming charts in the Middle East and North Africa region according to data from Spotify

The Afrobeats genre is expanding its international reach beyond the traditional markets of the UK, US, Canada, and France. Artists from Nigeria and Africa are finding success in Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa. Collaborations with global superstars have played a significant role in exposing Afrobeats to international audiences. Streaming and social media have also contributed to the genre's global growth. Spotify data shows that Afrobeats artists like Rema, CKay, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, and Tems are among the most streamed in regions like the Middle East, North Africa, Asia, and India. CKay's hit song 'Love Nwantiti' became Nigeria's biggest international song and topped the Indian International Singles Chart, while Rema's 'Calm Down' remix featuring Selena Gomez achieved success in India and the Middle East. Afrobeats' appeal spans different age groups, with fans of all ages engaging with the music. With its increasing international appeal and artists' accomplishments in new markets, Afrobeats is making its mark globally.
