Techstars-backed Nigerian Edtech Klas Raises $1M to Revolutionize Online Teaching Globally
Nigerian edtech startup Klas has raised $1 million in pre-seed funding, spearheaded by Ingressive Capital, alongside participation from Techstars and angel investors. Founded in 2022, Klas provides a simplified platform allowing users to create and sell ebooks, courses, and live classes, akin to Shopify for online stores. The platform, founded by Nathan Nwachuku, focuses on a closed ecosystem, distinguishing itself from competitors with a unique virtual classroom tool. With a user base of over 5,000 online schools and 300,000 learners across 30 countries, Klas plans to amplify its global presence, especially in India and North America. The startup aims to power 100,000 online schools by 2027, offering a free plan with a 5% transaction fee and considering enterprise products in the future.
