Terragon’s $9M raise gives credence to the market maturity in Africa’s cloud and martech space
Terragon, an African data and cloud martech company, has raised $9 million in a Series B funding round led by Orange Ventures. The company offers telcos and financial services companies data on Africa's growing consumer markets through products like Adrenaline, a telco-data monetization solution that enables telcos to diversify income and marketers to access specialized audiences. Terragon plans to expand its focus on mobile B2C messaging backed by big data consumer insights and strengthen its cloud-native capabilities. The company has partnerships with Microsoft, Unilever, and telecoms like MTN, providing access to around 105 million segmented profiles on its platform. Terragon's growth demonstrates the maturity of Africa's cloud and martech market. The company's success is attributed to Africa being a mobile-first continent, with mobile numbers serving as unique identifiers for digital services, allowing advertisers and marketers to gather relevant data.
