ThinkYoung Collaborates With Boeing to run Coding Schools in Kenya, Rwanda, and Ethiopia
The ThinkYoung Coding School, in collaboration with Boeing, plans to expand its operations to Rwanda and Ethiopia in 2023 to provide coding education for teenagers and young people across Africa. The bootcamp program focuses on teaching coding techniques for aviation, robotics, and drones and will offer free training to 150 African students, with 60% of them being female. The program aims to equip young people with necessary digital skills for the 21st century job market and to encourage a higher education path in STEM subjects. The school has successfully trained over 1,300 students since 2016 and stands out for its creative approach to non-formal education. The initiative seeks to bridge the gender gap in STEM fields by providing young girls with computer science experiences and promoting equality.
