Treepz pivots to car-sharing model
Treepz, a pan-African mobility start-up, has transformed into a car-sharing platform that enables car owners to offer their vehicles for hire. The company claims that this shift provides an inexpensive and sustainable transportation alternative in Africa. Treepz aims to fill the gap for affordable mobility in the continent where there are 44 cars to 1,000 Africans, allowing people to rent cars when they need it, with rental periods ranging from hourly to monthly. The company hopes to onboard more car owners to the platform to drive down rental prices further. Treepz also wants to compete with prevalent ride-sharing models by offering competitive pricing, a variety of car options, and an expansive reach across more cities in Africa.
