Western Union teams up with MFS Africa to enable cross-border mobile money transfers in Africa
MFS Africa, Africa's largest payment gateway, has partnered with Western Union to allow individuals and businesses across the continent to receive money from over 200 countries and territories. Through the partnership, funds can be sent from countries worldwide to mobile wallets across Africa using MFS Africa's licensed payment rails. The service will initially be launched in Madagascar and eventually be rolled out to other countries across the continent. MFS Africa's payment network connects over 400 million mobile money wallets, over 200 million bank accounts across Africa, and over 200,000 agents in Nigeria. The partnership aims to support financial inclusion across the continent and foster better integration between Africa and the rest of the world.
