Kigali, Rwanda The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Rwanda has announced a job opening for a competent professional to serve as the officer responsible for Agriculture at its Rwanda Office.
The successful candidate will work closely with a Japanese Project Formulation Advisor in charge of Agriculture and under the overall guidance of the Chief Representative.
The Agriculture Officer will be responsible for promoting program development and implementation in agriculture and nutrition, including climate change related initiatives.
The role also involves providing technical and administrative support in project formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
Other responsibilities include collecting and analyzing sector information, preparing reports, strengthening partnerships with Government of Rwanda institutions and development partners, coordinating JICA’s activities with other institutions, and representing JICA in meetings and conferences when required.
The officer will also contribute to the Sector Working Group (SWG), particularly at policy and strategy levels, and undertake any additional duties assigned by the Chief Representative
JICA Rwanda is seeking a highly motivated Rwandan national with: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification; At least five years of work experience in public or private institutions;
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda;
Basic computer proficiency in applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
Experience with development partners, international organizations, or public institutions will be considered an added advantage.
The position is contract based for an initial period of 13 months, from April 2026 to April 2027, including a three month probation period. Subject to satisfactory performance, the contract may be renewed annually.
The annual gross salary ranges between RWF 19.2 million and RWF 22.8 million, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience
