Love and winning in life: Could love be the most excellent way & weapon winning in life?
In navigating our way through life, we encounter challenges and situations that require us to apply strategies to overcome and resolve. While pondering on this I discovered the answer is all embedded in the Scripture below;
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Qualities of love
1. Love is patient
Most times when you start out something new like; learning a new skill, starting a new business, just getting into marriage or just got a new job etc, at some point it might be overwhelming. One quality of love you should apply is patience, more of it will make everything alright.
2. Love is Kind
Once upon a time there was a man who helped someone fix his car when it broke down while traveling, who fed a family when they didn't have enough etc. When his business was about crumbling, he organized fundraising and guess what several persons he helped showed up to help, reminding him of his acts of kindness.
3. Love is not boastful and proud
Even God resists the proud and gives more grace to the humble. Are you always angry when corrected or rebuked for doing wrong or taking wrong actions or do you struggle to apologize?. Every Boss loves a humble employee, and most proud ones get sacked. Admitting your mistakes and striving to correct them makes you a better person.
4. Love does not envy
God in “Hebrews 13:5”, instructed us to be content with what we have. Be happy and enjoy who you are and what you have, no need comparing yourself with others, or being envious, rather you can be inspired by their achievements and invest daily in being the best of you and celebrate your every win.
5. Love does not dishonour others
Everybody wants to stay or be around those who treat them with honour and respect. When you dishonour someone or something it means to bring shame. Be that person that makes others feel good & become the best version of themselves because of the honour you show them.
6. Love is not self seeking
Everyday look out for an opportunity to help others win. When given something or a responsibility to take care of, despite the fact that it's not yours, guard it with all diligence and ensure you produce excellent results.
7. Love is not easily angered
Think about all the results of you getting angry easily at someone or about something; it always produced chaotic outcomes. Practice self control, it's a quality of love that saves you from all the troubles anger brings.
8. Love keeps no record of wrong
Everyone can have peace of mind. It doesn't matter the wrong people do to you, aside from forgiving them, you can also do well to delete within you the files of the wrong done to you and create space in your heart to love them.
9. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth
Lots of people are in jail today for crimes they didn't commit. It's either the lawyer or witness was paid to lie in favour of their client or loved one. The world would be a better place if truth is allowed to prevail.
10. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres
Many homes and relationships are broken because either parties decided not to display the qualities of love. Love is everyone's responsibility and when shown can't be resisted.
Conclusion
The Bible indeed best describes the attributes or qualities of love. Love is big and a weapon everyone must be armed with. Remember to share your thoughts on the comment box, follow for more inspiring and educational posts and you can share our link with others too.
