SEE ME.

The mirror she stared back at every day,

Portrayed a different reflection.

She didn't see her,

She saw a girl clothed with negativity,

A girl bare without body positivity.

While she carried on in a confident charade,

No one saw her.

But he did.

In her every smile, the pain shone through her eyes,

Something you could almost miss.

Because, it held excitement when she ate pies,

Like there were no worries in the world.

And turning away for a second, the lone tear dropped,

Afraid of the questions and pity, she feigned to choke,

“Oh, it should be the drink”

And, yet again, he saw her.

"Are you merely a sad girl or weary and pale?

His voice echoed through her thoughts.

She smiled, pies are my favorite,

I…. She trailed off, looking away.

"I see you," he said.
