“Please stay,” she whispered, “don't go back this time.”
Her shaky voice broke his already dead heart.
“My forever,” his voice also low from the pain of having to leave her, “you know I cannot, for even now my master calls to me.”
“Screw your master,” she held his hand tighter and wished his bones could feel the coldness of her skin, and hopefully, her eternal love for him.
“Leave him and stay with me,” she begged, “we would never age, and we would never die.”
“You know I will always love you,” her eyes were closed, while still stroking his skeletal hands.
After 800 years, hearing those words still made the undying man’s dead heart, soar.
“I have changed I promise,” her cherry-colored eyes, now opened, were fixed on him, trying desperately to make him see her sincerity.
“No more children or innocents, only the evil I promise you.”
She rambled on, how he loved watching her continuous chatter, she had changed so much from the cold-hearted vampire he first met all those centuries ago.
“I know my forever,” he replied wishing he could feel the coolness of her skin on his dry bones.
“Then why won't you stay with me,” her voice softer and her eyes wet with tears yet to come.
He took a deep breath, she knew why, yet she asked every time.
He right hand held her waist and tenderly pulled her closer to him, which caused a breath to escape from her.
“I have loved you under every moon and eclipse,” he placed his temple against hers, “through blood and ashes, I am yours Ariadne, forever.”
Tears, like streams, flowed from her. The only man she ever wanted, was the one man she could never have.
