Kenya Set for Africa Tech Summit in February

Kenya is billed to host the fifth edition of the Africa Tech Summit on February 15th —16th, 2023. Africa Tech Summit is an annual tech event held across the continent, featuring leaders, international investors, KOLs, media houses, techpreneurs, and international players within Africa's tech ecosystem.

Last year, over 500 delegates alongside 150 speakers attended the Summit's fourth edition in Nairobi, Kenya. However, according to Andrew Fassnidge, Director of Africa Tech Summit, this year's edition will feature over 1000 attendees and 150 speakers despite being in the same location.

“After a sold-out out Summit in 2022, we are excited to welcome back 1000+ tech leaders, investors, and international players in Nairobi for two days. This year’s Africa Tech Summit will feature 150 speakers across two stages, masterclass sessions, an exhibition, and multiple networking events to drive business and investment forward.”

Previous editions of the exposition have been held in Kigali (Rwanda), London and Washington DC and Shanghai albeit with the same aim— bringing African Tech leaders and international players together.

What's on the Table?

Africa's tech ecosystem has recorded significant growth in the past year, seeing a $115 billion valuation in 2022. And according to Endeavor Nigeria, the ecosystem is projected to grow six folds by 2050, registering a $712 billion valuation. The Summit will serve as a rendezvous for tech leaders and stakeholders, including investors, corporates, mobile operators, fintech, DeFi and crypto ventures, start-ups, developers, regulators, and policymakers to do business, contributing to the growth of Africa's tech ecosystem

In addition, the Summit will focus on three themes— the Africa Money & DeFi Summit, the Africa Startup Summit, and the Africa Mobile & App Summit. Each will explore various talking points such as fintech, emerging startups, new mobile technologies, and the future of mobile growth and trends in the continent.

Meanwhile, applications for the fifth edition of Pitch Live are now open until January 16th. Ten African startups are usually selected to pitch their products during the Summit, before investors and corporate brands.
