Copia Global, a prominent B2C e-commerce platform in Kenya catering to rural and peri-urban areas, has commenced liquidation proceedings after unsuccessful attempts to secure financial support. The company, which specialized in delivering essential household items, will lay off all employees and sell off assets including delivery trucks and warehouses to settle debts owed to creditors. Founded in 2013, Copia had hoped to continue operations under reduced circumstances but was unable to secure the necessary funding despite efforts to attract investors throughout June 2024.
