Dash, the Ghanaian fintech has shuttered after a tumultuous run. The company did not achieve its vision to solve cross border payments for Africans by connecting mobile money wallets.

Ghanaian fintech Dash, which aimed to solve cross-border payments for Africans by linking mobile money wallets, is shutting down its operations. The company raised an impressive $86.1 million over five years, attracting major investors. Dash had claimed substantial growth, processing $1 billion in transactions and gaining a million users across Ghana, Nigeria, and Kenya. However, concerns arose about the accuracy of its user numbers, leading to the suspension and eventual firing of CEO Prince Boakye Boampong. A subsequent audit revealed a shortfall of at least $25 million, indicating financial mismanagement.
