SING is building an ecosystem from scratch in Gabon 🇬🇦
Société d’Incubation Numérique du Gabon (SING), an incubator for startups, was created in 2018 in Gabon, Africa, to drive the digital transformation of the country's tech ecosystem. SING provides access to capital, equipment, expertise, and office spaces for Gabonese startups. The incubator is supported by Gabon's ministry of the economy and funded by the World Bank, with a mandate to train 750 people and hold an exhibition program for 50 startups. SING's approach is sector-agnostic, accepting startups with founders who have expertise in their problem-solving domain and a business model in place. After a 3-4 month incubation process, SING takes up shares in the company. The incubator encourages startups to develop unique solutions tailored to Gabon's needs and expand to other African countries. SING's revenue streams include office space rental, advisory services, government and corporate funding, and external donor contributions. The incubator runs two programs: a 4-week training program called "Traction" and a 3-month acceleration program, assisting startups in achieving commercial success or raising funds through venture capital.
