Zoho’s new office in Kenya will not pursue product development
Cloud-based business software provider Zoho has announced the opening of its office in Kenya, marking its seventh office in the Middle East and Africa region. The company, which offers a range of online productivity and collaboration tools, aims to provide training services and local support to businesses using its products. While Zoho's Nairobi facility will not be involved in product development, it will focus on account management and catering to the needs of large organizations. Zoho has partnered with the Institute for Small Business Initiatives (ISBI) to digitize local SMEs by providing them with enterprise technology through its unified platform, Zoho One. The collaboration aims to help SMEs streamline operations and gain a competitive edge. The company will target sales deals with organizations such as Saccos and real estate agencies, and it already has partnerships with companies like insurance firm ICEA Lion and e-commerce platform Hotpoint. Zoho's expansion in Kenya reflects its recognition of the country as a leading market for its services and products. The company plans to increase its headcount in the coming days as it aims to expand its regional sales. The establishment of a local presence allows Zoho to better understand customer needs and challenges, provide personalized assistance, and gain valuable market insights.
