South Africa's regulatory authority quietly grants approval to Starlink affiliates, signaling a breakthrough for the satellite broadband service in the country. Despite previous regulatory challenges, Starlink is now on the path to meeting local ISP regulations, with three approved sellers ready to provide high-speed, low-latency internet to meet the strong market demand.

📡 Starlink, SpaceX's satellite broadband service, receives "type approval" certificates from South Africa's regulatory authority, Icasa, paving the way for legal operations in the country.

🌐 Despite previous regulatory hurdles, Starlink records robust sales in South Africa, becoming the top market for the broadband platform on the continent.

🔒 To comply with local regulations, Icasa issues type approval certificates to third-party sellers, including Paratus Telecommunications, Magic Space Dust, and Data X Lab, enabling them to legally sell Starlink services in the market.

🚀 Starlink's launch in South Africa faced delays due to regulatory challenges, but with recent approvals, the service is set to meet the country's high demand for high-speed, low-latency internet connectivity.

🌍 Starlink aims to expand its legal presence in Africa, with plans to replicate its efforts in 25 more countries by the end of 2024.
