BioNTech has officially launched its $150 million mRNA vaccine manufacturing facility in Kigali, Rwanda. The state-of-the-art BioNTainers, designed for global application and adaptability to regional needs, symbolize a revolutionary approach to pharmaceutical production. The facility is expected to be fully operational by 2025, employing at least 100 staff members. BioNTech plans to conduct clinical trials for malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV vaccines in Africa by 2024, reaffirming its commitment to democratizing vaccine technology on the continent.
