Juliet Ehimuan: Twelve years of leading Google in West Africa
Juliet Ehimuan, the former country manager for Google in Nigeria, has left her role after serving for over a decade. During her time at Google, Ehimuan focused on local content creation, supporting Nigerian businesses to go online, and providing digital skills training. She played a key role in securing investments for Africa's digital transformation, including a $50 million investment fund for startups and a $1 billion investment towards the continent's digital growth. Ehimuan also oversaw the localization of Google products and services, such as Google Maps and Street View, and facilitated the deployment of the Equiano subsea cable, which is expected to reduce data prices and create jobs in South Africa, Namibia, and Nigeria. Moving forward, Ehimuan plans to support and mentor tech startups and entrepreneurs in Africa through her social impact organization, Beyond Limits Africa, while also focusing on leadership development and personal excellence programs.
