Rwandan digital retail startup Kasha raises $21 million Series B 🇷🇼
Rwandan digital retail startup, Kasha, has successfully raised $21 million in a Series B funding round led by South African venture capital firm Knife Capital. Other investors in the round include Finnfund, Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Tim Koogle (former CEO of Yahoo), Beyond Capital Ventures, Altree Capital, Bamboo Capital’s BLOC Smart Africa Fund, and Five35 Ventures.
Kasha aims to provide women's healthcare services across Africa through its digital retail and last-mile distribution platform. The startup focuses on pharmaceuticals and fast-moving consumer goods, specifically catering to women's healthcare needs and household items. Their product offerings range from sanitary pads and contraceptives to diapers and cleaning supplies. The company currently operates in Kenya and Rwanda, with plans to expand into South Africa and West Africa in the near future.
With this latest funding, Kasha intends to accelerate its Pan-African expansion and invest in strategic areas of the business to further its high growth trajectory. Since its founding in 2016, Kasha has raised a total of $26.1 million across seed, Series A, and Series B funding rounds. The company aims to become Africa's leading digital platform for last-mile access to health products and household goods.
