This article highlights six renowned accelerator programs focused on African fintech startups. These programs offer mentorship, funding, and infrastructure support to accelerate the growth of startups in the fintech space. 


The accelerators mentioned are as follows:


1. Visa Africa FinTech Accelerator: This program provides expertise, connections, technology, and investment funding to up to 40 startups per year through a three-month intensive learning program.


2. Bank of America Breakthrough Lab: This impact accelerator program supports underrepresented entrepreneurs, providing tailored mentorship, digital expertise, networking opportunities, and access to potential investors.


3. Google Black Founders Fund: Established in 2020, this fund supports Black-led startups in Africa, Brazil, Europe, and the United States. Eligible startups receive equity-free cash, access to Google's resources, and the opportunity to connect with founders worldwide.


4. African FinTech Foundry (AFF): AFF, an initiative by Access Bank, nurtures and accelerates the growth of fintech startups in Africa. The program includes mentorship, funding, and access to the market across Access Bank's customers and subsidiaries.


5. ARM Labs Techstars Lagos Program: This partnership between Techstars and ARM Labs supports startups building innovative companies across fintech, mobility, e-commerce, and talent tech. Selected startups receive extensive training, mentorship, and up to $120,000 in equity funding.


6. AWS FinTech Africa Accelerator: This virtual, equity-free 10-week program, powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), supports pre-seed and seed stage fintech startups. Participants receive training in strategy, product development, and fundraising, along with access to AWS Activate program benefits.


These accelerator programs aim to provide startups with the necessary resources and support to scale their businesses and contribute to the growth of the African fintech ecosystem.
